Next Gen Education

Aaand here we are... We have finally reached the final entry of this blog. A lot has happened ever since I had first set foot in SK Bangsar, and I am grateful for every moment of it. Before I begin sharing all the things I've experienced over the duration of this course, I would like to first thank Dr. Nazean for making all of this possible. Without her tutelage, none of us would be able to make all that has happened a reality. I would also like to thank the sponsors for funding our program, with the help of sponsors, we were able to collaborate with ILearn-Ace and experience one of the latest E-Learning platforms available in Malaysia. I would also like to thank SK Bangsar for allowing us to meet with their students, get to know them better as well as allowing us to introduce to them the beauty of E-Learning. In the past, I have been a mentor in many cases. Most of them involve guiding my younger brother in his studies, explaining unclear topics to my fellow coursemates as well

Today's report might be a little bit different. First of all, it seems that Athirah's doing a really good job with her exercises. Every week she is sure to be active, mostly doing Bahasa Melayu or Mathematics exercises. What I would like to share with everyone is just how effective it seems to perform the act of "gamification" on matters that to some would be boring or dull mostly due to its repetitiveness. In the case of Ilearn-Ace, it would be the incentive of reaping rewards from answering well in the exercises. The rewards are mostly in the form of coins and experience. As one can observe from the appended photo below, Athirah has been doing Bahasa Melayu practice repetitively. This did not seem to bother her, because she would in return collect a coins based on her marks to be later converted into rewards, mostly in the form of playing games or buying stuff for her avatar. It's been awhile since I last checked on Athirah's progress. Unfortunately, she seemed to be inactive in accessing ILearn-Ace for quite a while; therefore I've decided to ask her regarding this matter. I introduced myself to Athirah before explaining my purpose of messaging her.  Thankfully, she had decided to help me out and cooperate. In the process, I also asked her if she could continue doing her exercises, as well as informed her that if she ever has any questions regarding the core subjects, she is free to ask me anytime.
